Tags, fields, and the connection
Connect the details.
Make the whole journey work.
Follow the account and webinar setup shown in the video. Tag rules identify the action; field mapping brings the webinar join link onto the ActiveCampaign contact.
- STEP 01
Prepare tags and a contact list
Create the ActiveCampaign list you want to use and an event-specific tag, such as “workshop-registered.” Create only the action tags your webinar needs.

Create the webinar join-link field
In ActiveCampaign, add a field named “Webinar join link,” matching the EasyWebinar field name shown in the guide. The video uses General Details and Text Input. Keep its generated shortcode for the mapping step.

Let their actions guide yours
Follow up on what each attendee does.
Map the webinar action to a tag, then build the matching automation in ActiveCampaign. Registration brings the contact in. Their next action guides what you send.
Choose an attendee action to explore its workflow and follow-up.
Attendance tag
The “Came to webinar” rule applies the ActiveCampaign tag you selected. Use that tag to identify the audience for your attendee follow-up.
Attendance gives context. Your automation chooses the next step.
Build the follow-up workflow
- 1Start with the attendance tag
Choose “Tag is added” and select the tag mapped to attendance for this webinar.
- 2Choose a useful next message
Add an email with your workshop resources, a related lesson, or the next step you discussed.
- 3Test the attendee journey
Join as a test attendee. Confirm the tag is added and the intended email arrives.
Test before activating: Check the attendance tag, automation entry, and resource links.
Missed-session tag
After the session outcome is known, the configured Missed rule can apply your no-show tag. Use it for the replay path you build.
Use the confirmed outcome for that session before sending a missed-webinar message.
Build the follow-up workflow
- 1Choose the missed tag
Start the automation when this webinar’s mapped missed tag is added.
- 2Offer another way to watch
Write the replay invitation or next-session message and include the correct access link.
- 3Check both outcomes
Test an attendee and a confirmed no-show. Only the no-show should enter this replay path.
Test before activating: Check the final outcome and test both attendance paths.
Offer-interest tag
Map “Saw offer (clicked)” to an event-specific tag in ActiveCampaign. The tag records interest in the offer you showed.
A click shows interest. It does not confirm a purchase.
Build the follow-up workflow
- 1Choose the offer-click tag
Use “Tag is added” with the tag mapped to the webinar’s clicked-offer rule.
- 2Make the message specific
Add an email with offer details, useful answers, and a clear next step.
- 3Check customer conditions
If you exclude buyers, use verified purchase data in your automation conditions. Test for duplicate messages.
Test before activating: Click the offer as a test attendee and verify the resulting tag and email.
These examples are automations you configure. Check your plan’s available actions, contact eligibility, and repeat-entry settings. Read the tag-trigger guide ↗
