Scaling Your Business With Automated Webinars (The Right Way!)
Are you thinking about running automated webinars but looking for some tips to help you create the best webinar possible?
If so, you’ve come to the right place. Automated webinars legitimately changed my life and business and want the same type of results for you in 2021. While they are powerful tools to help your business, it’s essential to run them with integrity.
Since you are not physically running these training sessions as you do with live webinars, it’s vital that you not dupe your audience.
EasyWebinar Core Values
Integrity is one of the core principles of EasyWebinar and I think it’s the cornerstone of running a successful online business. At EasyWebinar, we are here to serve changemakers and want to help you get the results that you want (and deserve).
Unlike some of our competitors, we do things a bit differently.
Every new feature we unveil is always first about the webinar attendee to make the best webinar experience possible. While of course we always want to make sure that it’s beneficial for the webinar presenter (in this case, you), it’s vitally important that we create a webinar platform with integrity.
In an age where so many people are trying to “get-rich-quick” with internet marketing, we aren’t here to support that. As our company has consistently grown year over year, we’ve seen other webinar platforms fade as they focus on that type of consumer. For us, we are always looking for people who operate with immense integrity and who are trying to make the world a better place.
In this post, I’ll share with you how to create high-converting automated webinars (with integrity) so you can help your clients and watch your business grow.
10 Automated Webinar Best Practices
Before diving in, you might be thinking… Why should I run evergreen webinars anyways?
Here are my biggest reasons why you should start using automated webinars ASAP:
- Repurpose your live webinars to create an automated series.
- Stream in real time with the look, experience and feel of a live event.
- Reach a larger audience by streaming in your attendees local timezone.
And most importantly, generate leads and sales without you teaching in front of a computer! This means more revenue and more impact without more blood, sweat, and tears on your end.
Sound good?
Hopefully so because your success is our success and that’s why I wanted to share some secrets with you. Let’s dive into 10 automated webinar best practices to start making sales on autopilot.
1. Record Your Webinar From Scratch
If you’re new to automated webinars, you might think it’s as simple as turning a past live recording into an automated event. While that can work, it’s not the strategy that I recommend. Unless you ran a perfect live webinar, there are always ways to improve your recording.
Recording a new webinar is the first step in converting a live webinar into an automated funnel. By starting fresh, you can make sure you have an epic presentation that you can turn evergreen. No distractions, no tech issues, and no audience will help you nail your presentation.
Plus, when recording a new webinar, it ensures you have an automated audience in mind, not live attendees. This will help you cater your specific recording for them and not try to dupe your audience that it’s live.
2. Leave Out Reference of Time
One reason I always suggest recording a webinar from scratch is this – not having any reference of time. Remember, automated webinars are supposed to work when you don’t – that means 24/7/365. If you say something like “Good morning” and someone watches it at 4pm in their time zone, it’s not going to make much sense.
Instead, avoid any reference of what time of day or what day of the week. Since most automated webinars are available multiple times per day, you’ll want to keep most of your language general.

3. Don’t Use Fake Chat
Have you ever attended an automated webinar and seen a chat box full of conversations? Then, you hit the chat box but don’t get the right answer or no answer at all?
This is known as a live chat simulator (or fake chat). Unlike some of our competitors, we do not offer a live chat simulator. Why not?
One word: integrity.
While I’m the first to say I love automated webinars, I never want anyone to dupe their audience and say it’s a live training when it’s not. To me, this is an easy way to lose trust, lose followers, and never become an expert in your niche.
The last thing you want is to be known as a sleazy internet marketer that is only in it for the money. Plus, there is no hard data to support that fake chat even gets more sales.
To us, fake chat on a webinar is not worth the risk to damage your brand and reputation.
At EasyWebinar, we believe in powerful automation with integrity. That’s why we run things differently as we don’t want to damage our reputation or yours.
Remember, the most successful EasyWebinar users continue to use automation but they always do it in an ethical way. Our customers have proven that you don’t need to market in a spammy way to succeed. As Warren Buffet once said, “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.”
4. Bring the Energy on Your Webinar
I can’t stress this enough… when you run automated webinars (or any sort of video content), you need to bring the energy! But with automation, you need to do it even more than you do with a live webinar. If you don’t have a ton of positive energy, people won’t stick around very long. And if they don’t stay long, that means they won’t see your offer and won’t likely invest in your product.
Whether you or someone else is presenting during the webinar, make sure there is plenty of energy! As Steve Backley said, “If you have positive energy, you will always attract positive outcomes.”
No truer words have ever been spoken!
5. Have a Q&A Section
Once you’re done teaching, don’t forget a Q&A!
Just because it’s automated doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have a Q&A section. Once you’re done teaching and pitching, this is the part of the webinar that helps get people excited about your offer. So please, do not skip this step and think it’s only for live webinars.
Instead, have 7-10 questions and answers prepared in advance.
This way you can easily read them off and answer questions with your audience. As long as you say things like “I get this question from so many people in my live trainings” or “A lot of people ask me about XYZ” then you’re staying in integrity.
Remember, a lot of times people are on the fence about investing in you and your offer. Your Q&A section is how you can push them over the edge and get them excited about working with you. Try to have several questions about price/payment plans, details of the program, who it’s for, who it’s not for, how it works, and anything else you feel will help them invest.
This part of your webinar will help you clarify your offer with your audience which is key to making online sales.
6. Nail Your Followup Sequence
One of the most important parts of a webinar (live or automated) is your follow-up sequence. While some attendees will turn into customers during the webinar, not all of them will. In fact, most people will likely join in the days following if they decide to invest.
This is why it’s so important to have an automated webinar followup sequence. Your followup sequence will help get more people to:
- Watch the replay.
- Sign up for your offer.
- Visit your sales page (and then retarget with ads).
- Learn more about your messaging and copywriting skills.
Please, do not skip this step either!
A lot of times attendees might just need a day or two to think about the investment, talk it over, and learn more about you and your offer. This is where your follow-up sequence comes in.

7. Know Your Numbers
As I’ve said many times, webinars are simply a numbers game. If you want to scale your revenue with webinars, you need to know your numbers!
Some of these numbers you want to know include:
- Attendance rate.
- Registration page rate.
- Webinar engagement rate.
- Total webinar conversion rate.
Suggested: Webinar Statistics for Marketers
By knowing these numbers, you can tweak necessary pieces of your webinar to get more sales. For example, if you notice your registration page rate is converting less than 30% you’ll want to tweak the page to get the number up.
Or, if you notice that people aren’t showing up enough (50% is a good benchmark), you’ll want to send more reminders leading up to the webinar (Don’t worry, this is simple with EasyWebinar and you can choose to send several emails leading up to your event).
Finally, you’ll want to consider more metrics that are available to you inside your EasyWebinar portal. Our advanced analytics and reporting will help you learn more about:
- Total visitors.
- Percentage watched.
- Webinar replay views.
And a lot more! These metrics come in handy when analyzing your launch and figuring out ways to create a better experience for your audience.
8. Poll Your Audience
Once your webinar and offer period is over, this is a great opportunity to get feedback and learn from your audience. Let’s say you run an automated webinar, have a 4-day sales window, and then close the doors to your offer. On day five, I highly recommend sending out some sort of short survey to people who didn’t enroll.
You can send them a short email that says something like,
“Hey,
I noticed that you didn’t sign up for (Insert program name) and wanted to learn more. In an effort to produce the best content and programs, I’d love to hear from you.
Please click this link to fill out a short 2-minute survey on why you chose not to enroll at this time.
Thank you so much!
(Insert name and signature)”
This short email and survey can help you learn more about your offer and launch. I suggest keeping the survey short and sweet so it’s not a burden for them to fill out. In general, the longer the survey, the fewer people will fill it out.
Asking your audience is another core value that we hold at EasyWebinar. We are regularly communicating with our users to make the best products and updates available. The more you communicate with your audience and share value, the better relationships you will create.
9. Follow Up on Lost Leads
This automated webinar tip could help you generate some serious revenue.
If you already have a webinar, let me ask… what are you doing with lost leads? Lost leads refers to the people who registered for your event but didn’t show up.
In most cases this can be 40-70% of your total leads! Imagine if you invite them once, they register, no show, and then never hear from them again? This is a lost opportunity.
Instead, I urge you to create an email flow to get people to re-register for your automated training.
Here’s a simple three-step process you can use:
Email 1: Once they don’t show up for the event, have an email automatically go out that reminds them they missed and a link to sign up again.
Email 2: If they don’t sign up for an encore event, send another email the second day afterward reminding them of the benefits of attending. Stress the importance of how it could help them and what you’ll teach them in the training.
Email 3: A few days after email two if they still haven’t attended, send them a final reminder. If they attend, awesome but if not, you know that you gave it a shot. From here, you’ll want to put them in a different nurture sequence or add them to your general newsletter.
Setting up this automated flow will help you convert more leads to sales!
10. Upgrade Your Production
Since you aren’t showing up for webinars each time, it’s not a bad idea to upgrade your production to help with engagement. Remember, while automated webinars are awesome, they don’t have quite as high of engagement as a live webinar.
Knowing this, you want to spend some extra time and money on your production. Take ownership of your production and go above and beyond what your competitors are doing. Your audience will appreciate the extra effort and show that you’re serious about serving them.
Some of the best ways to do that include:
- Buy a professional microphone.
- Find a professional speaking coach.
- Hire a VA to create a more professional & engaging slide deck.
- Invest in a new backdrop or lighting if you do live video on your webinar.
While all these will help, never forget to focus on value to your audience. The more you serve and are excited about the information you’re teaching, the better of an experience it will be for attendees.

Final Thoughts
Remember, an automated webinar is a tool to help scale your business and impact more people. But don’t think a hack like “fake chat” will 10X your conversion rate or suddenly change your business overnight.
Automated webinars are not a tool that is used to deceive attendees and take advantage of them. That’s why we avoid certain features (like fake chat) to ensure the best possible experience for your webinar attendees.
But when used correctly, these pre-created webinars will help you generate leads and customers daily, even if you’re on vacation or taking a much-needed day off. Stick with the 10 best practices in this post and always focus on serving your audience.
Remember, running these webinars does come with a ton of responsibility. As Uncle Ben said in Spider-Man, “With great power, comes great responsibility.”
Use these best practices to start running awesome automated events and start impacting more people with your programs.
