Can you imagine having one webinar and course that yields over 90,000 students?
I want to share the massive success story about Dave McCready. As one of our power users, he is consistently seeing results coming from his webinar funnels. He has been able to leverage the power of webinars to impact thousands of parents worldwide.
Dave and his wife Amy are the creators of Positive Parent Solutions.
Dave and Amy started their business on January 1st, 2009. When they first began they barely had a business idea.
Fast forward ten years later and they now serve a massive audience. In fact, Dave shared with me in the interview that they have served over 90,000 customers!
Their main product is an online digital course for parents that will “Get your kids to listen without yelling, nagging, or losing control.” As someone who has a family, I can relate and love what they’re doing with their brand.
Positive Parenting Solutions gives you the tools you need to finally put an end to exhausting power struggles with your children. No more tantrums. No more meltdowns. No more guilt. Become the parent you’ve always wanted to be.
With Facebook ads and webinars, they have catapulted their business into the national spotlight. Amy has been seen on The Today Show, Rachel Ray, CNN, and other huge media outlets.
5 Webinar Tips From Dave McCready
Amy started teaching the content of their course in person at churches and events but she wasn’t making much money. She knew their content could change the lives of families everywhere but didn’t know much about digital marketing (yet). Everything changed when they learned the power of SEO, blogging, paid traffic, and webinars.
In the last 10 years, they’ve been able to reach hundreds of thousands of people with webinars and get between 1-2,000 per day into their funnel. This leads to their signature course which is priced between $200-$250.
Here are some of Dave McCready’s best tips to help you better use webinars in your business.
1. Use Affiliate Partners To Help Promote Webinars
When they started their business Dave and Amy were using affiliate partners to promote their webinars. They started reaching out to other bloggers in their niche like mom bloggers, yoga bloggers, and parenting blogs. They found it effective but it wasn’t as a scalable as paid advertising.
This is a great way for you to get started too. If you’re new to webinars and aren’t as comfortable with Facebook ads, start by finding affiliates to help you promote your web class.
2. Build Your Email List With Webinars
Webinars are a great way to grow your email list which has a ton of long-term value. As they say, “The money is in the list.” And it’s so true.
Even if you’re only converting 5-10% of people on webinars, you get their email address. Remember, people don’t always buy on the first interaction with your business.
After you have their email you can retarget with Facebook ads or put them into a different funnel. This recipe for marketing your webinar will bring higher conversions in the future.
3. Use Automated Webinars to Scale Your Business
In the beginning, Amy was doing 1-3 webinars per day and at least 3 times per week. She quickly found out through the late nights and early mornings live webinars weren’t scalable. Since then they’ve leveraged the power of automated webinars in a huge way.
They found the sweet spot and now run 95% of webinars as automated ones. This allows them to run webinars every 15 minutes and convert customers worldwide, regardless of timezone.
Dave recommends testing out your message first using live webinars. After your message is perfected and clear you can switch to automated webinars for better conversions.
4. Use Facebook Ads & Organic SEO to Drive Traffic
As I’m sure a lot of you know, Facebook ads are getting more and more competitive which means higher prices. One thing Dave and Amy have done very well is not relying solely on paid traffic. Instead, they are producing great content on their blog to drive organic traffic.
Some of their articles have gone viral and generated tons of leads. Their blog posts have a Call To Action to attend webinars and make it easy for new readers to sign up.
Don’t rely on paid traffic alone. Find a combination of both for sustainable, long-term growth.

5. Set Up Proper “Warm-Up” Sequences
On the thank-you page, Dave recommends, “The more you can warm up your audience before the webinar, the better chance you have of them attending.”
After completing registration for the webinar, attendees are sent to a thank you page with a video from Amy to build more rapport.
Dave recommends taking a lot of care in the creation of your reminders and followup sequence.
Dave uses EasyWebinar to send out the “before-event” email reminders. The “after-event” emails are sent along with posts from the blog posts to create an amazing follow-up sequence.
If they still haven’t converted a lead after their 30 day follow up sequence, they send them into their newsletter list.
One great bonus technique that Dave recommended using is a text message reminder. Since they started using SMS webinar reminders he has found that attendance has risen by 10%. During the registration process, he offers an option to check a box and enter their phone to receive these automated texts.
10% more in attendance can make a huge difference when it comes to increasing monthly revenue and not having to track them down to attend again.
Final Thoughts
As you can tell from the interview there was so much great content from Dave and Amy that I know they can help you in your business and webinars.
A couple of things that stuck out to me was their fearlessness when they got started. Even though they were new to digital marketing, they dove in headfirst and have impacted people all over the world. They didn’t let fear hold them back.
I also love how they are using a combination of paid ads and organic traffic. This helps create a steady stream of 1,000+ people each day.
Implement these great tips from Dave and Amy’s webinars to grow your revenue this year.
