Have you ever wondered how you can get more people to show up to your webinar?

Let’s face it, webinars are just a numbers game. The more people you get to attend and stay through the webinar, the more likely you can get them to buy your product or service. 

But a problem I see with so many people is that they don’t know how to get attendees to actually show up for the webinar. I’ve found the biggest reason is that most entrepreneurs don’t give people enough reason to show up to the webinar or watch the replay. 

Once you can learn this valuable skill, I can almost guarantee your revenue will skyrocket. 

So how do you actually get people to show up to your webinar? 

The best ways to get people attending your webinars is through proper marketing techniques.

The main thing you need to do is to nail the marketing message. Not to say it has to be absolutely perfect, but it needs to be super clear to your audience what the webinar will do for them. 

Your webinar needs to clearly solve a problem that your audience is dealing with. Remember, people won’t show up just to hear you talk about yourself and your business. People want to spend their time on activities that will make their life better.

So it’s up to you to clearly communicate how you can help your audience. You need to keep motivation high from the moment people learn about your webinar.

Here are the best strategies to help you get people to show up to your webinar without tons of extra work on your end.

Create Engaging Video Content

To get people excited for your webinar, create micro-content that speaks to your audience. You can do this with long-form captions on Instagram, IGTV, 60-second clips on Instagram, Youtube. Clearly pinpoint a problem they are having and start to provide a solution for them. 

When it comes to creating free content, I always recommend doing video content if possible. By getting on camera and showing your face to your audience, you can instantly get people to know, like, and trust you at a deep level. 

Think about it like this… Your audience is in pain right now, even if they don’t know it. Your job is to show them how you can help move them from pain to pleasure. At the end of the free content, you can then direct them to a webinar registration page.

Confirm With Your Thank You Page

Once someone registers for your webinar, make sure that you remind them again what they are going to learn. I recommend having a short video on your thank you page that confirms the importance of coming to your webinar. 

For example, let’s say you’re an online fitness coach. Here is what your reminder message would look like: 

“Thanks again for registering for my training. Don’t forget, when you show up for this epic workshop where you will be able to learn how to meal prep each week in under 90 minutes without breaking the bank.” 

Make sure the message is a clear, concise statement that speaks directly to your target audience.

Send Email Notifications

Another important trick to getting people to show up to your webinar is to keep sending pre-webinar reminder emails. You want each email to include a “problem-solve” scenario. To do this, present one of the most common problems your audience has and a solution.

If done correctly, these emails will pre-frame you as an authority before they even sign-on. Then, when they do show up to the webinar, they already think of you as an expert. 

In those pre-webinar emails, I highly recommend showing off testimonials and case studies from previous people who have worked with you. This will help in so many ways.

Show Social Proof

First, it will show that you can deliver results to your clients or students. Second, it will help people relate to those individuals and feel like if others can get results, so can they do it too. 

Use Messenger Bots

While email marketing is still a great way to remind people about your webinar, open rates have declined over the years. While you shouldn’t ditch email, don’t forget to try out new options. One solution to just sending out an email reminder is to use a messenger bot like ManyChat. 

With messenger bots, you send attendees reminders and more information about your webinar via Facebook messenger. The open rates are so much higher than emails. 

Expert marketer Neil Patel got an 88% open rate and a 56% click-through rate in one experiment he ran with messenger bots. Even if you don’t get Neil’s type of numbers, messenger bots can get way more people to your webinar.

Another way to get more people to show up for your webinar is to use SMS text messaging. Because let’s face it, only 20-30% of people are actually opening your emails (at most). That means by only sending emails, you are missing out on the other 70% of your potential customers if you are only using email marketing.

To get more people to your webinar, send them a text reminder 15-30 minutes before the workshop. Text messages get people’s attention much more than emails. This will give you a much better chance of getting people to attend your webinar.

Getting people to attend on their phones, as opposed to a computer, has a huge advantage as well. Because most mobile phones are a “one thing at a time” device. This means that webinar attendees cannot leave that app and continue to receive your message. If your message is compelling enough, you can keep them engaged and focused on the content instead of multi-tasking.

Instead, you need to use some or all of these strategies to get more people on your webinars.

By sending text reminders, messenger bots, and emails, you are much more likely to get people to show up. 

Also, make sure to always provide value in your marketing. Make it clear how they will benefit from attending your workshop.
