EasyWebinar 2020 Recap and Looking Ahead to 2021
For this week’s blog post, we wanted to do something we’ve never done before. As you know, last year was far from the start of the decade that we all imagined.
Full scale lockdowns, a global health crisis, learning to work at home, and so much more made it a year unlike any other. But now that the calendar has shifted, it’s time to look ahead for 2021 and set you up for success.
To start the new year right, we thought it would be best to sit down with our founder, Casey Zeman to get his take on 2020 and what to expect in 2021. Plus, we’ll share how we made EasyWebinar even better to help you crush it this year.

Let’s dive in…
What’s the biggest lesson you learned in 2020?
I would say it’s the importance of being adaptable. As you know, 2020 was a year unlike any other, but businesses must adapt to survive.
The people who found the most success, even with adversity were extremely adaptable. I can’t tell how you many people had their biggest revenue year ever because they adapted to the times.
With so many online course creators and experts using EasyWebinar, it was great to see them adapt quickly. They saw a need based on the COVID-19 crisis, served their audience and implemented changes quickly into their business.
With our business model, we saw an incredible amount of growth and couldn’t be more proud of our team. Thanks to a clear mission, a step-by-step plan, and adaptability we were able to serve more entrepreneurs than ever before.
What type of goals should webinar users set each year?
I’m a huge fan of setting goals both in your personal and professional life. Without goals, it’s nearly impossible to reach you or your businesses full potential.
While there are tons of ways to set goals, I think it’s vital to get clear on what you want to achieve first. When you do that and start with the end in mind, it makes it a lot easier to reverse engineer your goals for success.
For example, if you want to earn $100,000 by using webinars to sell your online courses, simply reverse the process. Break down how many people you need to register, attend, and buy to make your goal a reality. Then, take small steps each and every day to make it happen.
In this example, once you know the rates of these three factors, it makes your goal a lot more attainable. If one area is lacking, you know what to improve and can adapt quickly to achieve your goal.
How do you recommend online entrepreneurs to set goals each year (quarterly, weekly, etc)
Personally, I love 90-day goals. While I think it’s important to have yearly goals as well, a 90-day goal is the perfect amount of time.
90 days is a long enough time to give yourself time to work on a project or do a launch (or two). But, it’s also short enough to have plenty of urgency as well and helps you get into action mode.
What traits do you see from the top performing EasyWebinar users?
I think entrepreneurs need to develop three traits as well; vulnerability, tenacity, and loving the numbers. If you’ve read any of my other blogs, you know how important I think it is to be vulnerable with your audience.
If you’re an online expert selling courses or a membership, showing that you went through what your audience is going through is vital. When you let your audience know that you can relate to their struggle but overcome it, instantly you have more authority in your niche. Vulnerability also helps build the know, like, trust factor, and also makes you very relatable to your audience.
Second, I think having a strong amount of tenacity is super important as well. Look, entrepreneurship is the tough route otherwise everyone would do it.
It’s usually very difficult in the beginning, you’re bound to fail a lot, and people will doubt you. But if you’re tenacious and determined to succeed, you will find a way one way or another. As Amelia Earhart said, “The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.”
Finally, I think it’s so vital to be okay “getting bored with the numbers.” While most people want the huge launches and tons of clients, so many people forget the importance of the metrics that make it possible.

What are you most excited about for 2021?
Like many of you, I’m very excited for so much in the new year.
In 2020, we had a record setting year despite the pandemic and uncertainty in the world. With in-person events being displaced and more businesses going online than ever before, I think the trend will continue even more this year.
I’m very focused on making sure we keep helping entrepreneurs share their message with the world. We are fortunate to have so many heart-centered entrepreneurs on our platform and I love how they are making the world a better place with their programs and services.
We’re going a mile deep in 2021 with updates that will make EasyWebinar better than ever. Since “easy” is in our name we want to make sure our webinar platform is easier to use than any of our competitors. Not just for the webinar hosts but also the webinar attendees as well.
Our mission is to help everyone who runs webinars with our platform know their people better than ever. We’re focused on making sure you have all the data you need to scale your business and make a bigger impact.
How can people keep using webinars in 2021?
Webinars aren’t going anywhere and in today’s world of social distancing, they’re probably going to be more popular than ever before. Here are my three biggest tips to maximize webinars this year:
- Run more webinars: If you want to increase sales, you need to get more offers in front of more people. Increase your odds by running more webinars to build trust and generate more sales.
- Run no-pitch webinars: If you’re scared of running webinars, start by running no-pitch webinars. These are shorter and easier to run, plus, there’s no pressure of selling.
- Automate what’s working: Finally, I think more people should use automated webinars as well. This makes it easy to scale once you can generate leads consistently with paid or organic traffic.
What’s the biggest tip for coaches/course creators to earn more money from webinars this year?
Focus on serving more than selling.
When I first started running webinars nearly a decade ago, I was so scared of selling that I barely ever ran them. If I did, they were wildly unsuccessful as I was nervous, anxious, and bad at selling.
But once I changed my mindset from selling to simply serving my audience, everything changed. Eventually, running webinars became easy and people were begging to buy my products and work together.
Anything else you would like to share?
Finally, I also want to let you know that I’m publishing a book in 2021 all about webinars! Since running my first webinar nearly a decade ago, they’ve literally changed my life and helped me start this amazing company.
In my book, I’ll share with you the best ways to use webinars in all areas of your business. When you’re done reading, you will know how to use live and automated webinars for maximum impact and income.
Also, we’re doing a major release in 2021 with our own unique page builder. This will make it incredibly easy to create your own landing pages without having to hire an expensive designer. It will be unlike any other platform and can’t wait to show it to you soon.

Before diving into what we have in 2021, I wanted to first do a recap of 2020. Our worldwide development team was hard at work behind the scenes creating more features and products than ever before. Here are some of our biggest wins from 2020 and how they can help you move forward.
More Integrations
At EasyWebinar, we know how important it is to have your software work together. Otherwise, it causes way too much stress and headaches to your life and business.
In 2020, we made all kinds of advances in integrations including updates to Zapier, Pardot, Hubspot, Constant Contact, Influencersoft and a lot more. Plus, we still work seamlessly with your favorite platforms like:

- Mailchimp
- Convertkit
- Get Response
- Active Campaign
- Constant Contact
And so many more!
Better Action Tracking (Advanced Analytics)
Thanks to all of our new integrations, we also rolled out additional ways to tag users and sync with your email marketing software. With these additional tagging features you can learn more about your average webinar user and tag them properly.
While we have more tags than ever before, let’s not forget about the advanced analytics as well. You might have already seen some of these features inside your EasyWebinar dashboard but expect even more to come in 2021.
One of our top initiatives to help you know your people more than ever before. Our new dashboard will help you learn more about each user and what actions they take during the webinar. This will help you create marketing with a better message, a more effective webinar, and hopefully generate more revenue.
Remember, the most successful people running webinars are ones that know your numbers. Once you know your numbers, then you can scale like never before!
Presenter Options
We also rolled out some new updates in terms of the number of presenters and presenter view. More of which you’ll see in Q1! Now, if you have more than one presenter and using a webcam, you’ll be able to follow who’s talking by checking out the green box around the speaker.
Automatic Countdown Redirects
One big issue we wanted to address in 2020 was getting more people who registered to show up for your events. One way we did that is with automatic countdown redirects.
Now, if someone registers for a webinar and lands on your thank you page, they will be automatically redirected when you go live. In the past, users would only be redirected into the live room from the countdown page, but now, it redirects from both.
This means more attendees will get into your webinars without any delays no matter if they are sitting on the thank you page or countdown page. This can of course boost your sales and revenue too!
Expired Link Options
While the automatic redirect is great, another feature we rolled out is an expired link option. This gives you extra flexibility to redirect expired links in case someone opens their email too late.
For example, if you run a live webinar on Thursday at 3pm PST, but the attendee doesn’t open it until Friday, they now have options. In the past, it would have just gone to a page saying “Sorry you missed this webinar” but now, you can tweak it as needed.
Instead, you can send them to a replay, a rebroadcast, an automated webinar, re-register for another live event or something else (like a waitlist or sales page). This way you don’t lose your hard-earned leads and get more people to watch your webinars and take action on your offers.
2021 EasyWebinar Updates
As you can tell, we were busy in 2020 in helping our users have the best webinar experience possible. But we’re just getting started, as we have so many new features coming out in 2021.
Here are some of our new features that you can get excited about (more details to come):
Green Room
This one I’m really excited about! Now, we’ll have the ability to give you an area to get ready before you go live with your webinar. Instead of making you sign on (and then attendees can as well), now you have a space to get 100% prepared.
In the “Green room” you can upload your presentation, check your sound, and make sure the video is good to go. Then, when you’re 100% ready and excited to engage with people logging on, you can do it with a click of a button. No more feeling frazzled before the big show!
New Templates & Page Builder
Another massive upgrade coming to EasyWebinar is our pre-made webinar templates. In 2021, you’ll have even more templates to choose from when creating your registration, event, and replay page.
These new templates will make it easier than ever to create your entire webinar funnel without hiring an expensive designer. Plus, these templates are designed based on high-performing webinar users.
Not to mention, the page builder that I mentioned as well. It’s going to make EasyWebinar unlike any other platform and make it so simple to create your pages effortlessly.
Even More Integrations
While we have tons of integrations that work with EasyWebinar, expect even more this year. We’re constantly making updates to ensure that we have the most robust software to help you seamlessly run webinars.
