But if you haven’t done your first webinar yet, you might not be sure of what you actually need to get started. I see a lot of people overcomplicate the process and thus, procrastinate on actually doing a webinar.

Be Authentic For Your Audience

To run a great webinar, you need to have sincerity and value above everything else. You need to be 100% yourself. 

Webinars are not the time to act like a robot or a boring college professor teaching off of the slides. While you might be nervous if you’re just starting out in the webinar world, use that excitement with your audience. Channel your nervousness into a passion for the topic of your webinar.

If you try to act like someone you’re not, your audience will figure it out quickly. Instead, you want to let your audience know exactly who you are from the moment they sign on to the webinar.

As soon as you start your introduction slides, tell them a story that can help them relate to you. This will help build the know-like-trust factor very early on in your relationship.

Most computers and laptops come with a webcam but if not, you might want to buy in case you do any interview webinars. While you can use your computer audio, I recommend spending the $50-$100 dollars on a professional microphone. This will sound best for your audience and also help if you choose to make it an automated webinar. 

Other than that, you don’t need any expensive lighting or greenscreen (unless you want too). I suggest keeping everything as simple as possible when you first run a webinar. Instead, focus on creating a valuable presentation than can help you build trust and authority with viewers.
