Periscope, Twitter’s New app, is changing the way you engage.
On March 26, 2015, Twitter introduced its new app Periscope. This video we created is just a quick look into what Periscope is, and how it can be utilized with your EasyWebinar Broadcasts.
Here is the description they give on the app store:
Periscope lets you broadcast live video to the world. Going live will instantly notify your followers who can join, comment and send you hearts in real time. The more hearts you get, the higher they flutter on the screen.
Other features:
[+] REPLAY: When your broadcast is over, you can make it available for replay so viewers can watch later. Viewers can replay your broadcast with comments and hearts to relive the full experience. Replays currently last 24 hours. You can delete your replay at any time.
[+] PRIVATE: If you want to broadcast to specific people, press the lock icon before going live and choose who you want to invite to your broadcast.
[+] TWITTER: You can choose to share your Periscope broadcasts on Twitter by tapping the bird icon before you start broadcasting. When you go live, you’ll tweet a link so that your Twitter followers can watch on the web (or in the app)
[+] MANAGE NOTIFICATIONS: Periscope will suggest people for you to follow based on your Twitter network. You can always follow new people, or unfollow them if you don’t want to be notified when they go live. You can also adjust notification preferences in Periscope Settings (in Profile)
[+] HEARTS: Periscope keeps track of how many hearts you get from your viewers. The more hearts, the higher you get in the “Most Loved” list.
Because Periscope allows you to connect directly with your following, we here at EasyWebinar immediately connected with their vision, and their app.
We work hard to stay up to date with cutting edge apps that are accepted socially on a global scale. Just like we use webinars to engage live, and automated with our followers and potential clients, we can use Periscope in the same way, at the same time, reaching another market, and engaging with new people. Our plan is to utilize Periscope to engage with more people, as well as market and provide value to a crowed who may not be familiar with who we are and what we do.
We will be testing the use of Periscope along side one of our live webinars on EasyWebinar in the coming weeks, and will be preparing a case study on the results, and engagement we experienced. We will also be creating a tutorial on how you can utilize this new platform to grow your list and engagement.
As of right now, because its so new, Periscope has one purpose and that is to stream video from your phone to your followers. Twitter has not yet released an API, embed code, or any other way to view your broadcast aside from their app. We are hoping they will come out with something our platform can connect with in the future, but until then, we will learn and share the best way to utilize this new social platform for your value packed webinars.
In the Meantime Want to Join Casey When He Periscopes? Casey will be often times
doing random Periscopes to Connect More With You!
Why try this? Well right now periscope is so new that you can get seriously awesome ranking, build a community and promote your webinars without very little noise out there. I mean Oprah was just on a periscope the other day…but she was getting ranking next to people who are just starting out.
Periscope is kind of like possibly YouTube was when it first came out! Kinda!
I would suggest checking it out for sure to decide for yourself.
Because Periscope is an app for Android or iPhone, the best way to join Casey and to get the free app yourself is:
Step 1 – Download the Periscope app on your phone from your app store
Step 2 – Sync it up with Twitter (it will ask you to login to Twitter)
Step 3 – Open the app and click the little group of people on the bottom right of the app
Step 4 – Click the little magnifying glass on the top left to search and type in Casey Zeman or @youtubejedi
Step 5 – Click Casey’s name and click follow
Now when Casey goes live, your phone will notify you and you can open up the app and watch him.
Once you get on you can tap on the screen to give him little hearts, and you can also type at the bottom and chat to ask him questions.
If you get a chance to play around with Periscope, comment below anything cool things you find!
